Expert Witness

Over the past fifteen years, GBRW’s directors and associates contracted by us have been instructed as banking experts by many leading law firms. For details of our experience, see our Expert Witness assignments. See also our list of instructing firms.

In June 2007 we acquired the business of Intrabank Expert Witness and now operate as GBRW Expert Witness. IEW’s contacts with a wide range of legal firms outside London and in retail and domestic banking have proved to be a very good fit with GBRW’s previous activities, which had tended to be more focused on City-based firms and large corporate disputes.

In January 2009, GBRW reached agreement with Associated Insurance Experts to combine our expert witness practices. AIE has been providing expert witnesses in insurance and reinsurance since the early 1990s and has a pool of 40 highly experienced experts in a wide range of disciplines

GBRW Expert Witness is managed by Paul Rex together with his colleagues David Croft and Jeremy Denton-Clark. Paul is a Fellow of the Academy of Experts and an Accredited Mediator for the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution. He has acted as an expert witness in more than 45 cases, most recently in IRD v Westpac Banking Corporation (High Court of New Zealand) and KBC & Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi UFJ v Ferrero & Others (both 2009).
