Paul Rex

Paul Rex is Managing Director of GBRW. He has eighteen years of lending, credit and management experience at senior level with two major banks, Chemical Bank (now JP Morgan Chase) and Crédit Agricole. He has been involved in consulting for the past fourteen years. He has worked on assignments in more than 20 countries, including Bangladesh, China, Egypt, Mongolia, Poland, Russia, Serbia, Uganda and West Bank/Gaza and is also responsible for GBRW’s expert witness activities.

Jeremy Denton-Clark

 

Jeremy Denton-Clark has wide banking experience in the City of London. After working initially with Kleinwort Benson and National Westminster Bank, he became General Manager of London Interstate Bank and then spent eight years as President and Chief Executive Officer of City Merchants Bank. Since 1994 he has worked as a senior consultant with banks in China, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bangladesh, Serbia, Montenegro, Russia, Romania, Mongolia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Croatia and Bosnia.

David Phillips

 

David Phillips joined GBRW from the World Bank where he had been a senior private sector development specialist in September 2000, to establish our US subsidiary, GBRW Inc. He had long term assignments in Tanzania from 1971 to 1975; in Nepal from 1977 to 1979; and in Belarus as World Bank Representative from 1997 to 1998. David has extensive experience in transition and developing economies in enterprise development and finance issues, especially in the micro/SME sector, and in economic impact assessment. He has carried out assignments in a wide range of countries, most recently in South Africa, Tanzania, and a multi-country study for the IFC.

Robert Woodbridge

 

Robert Woodbridge has a very broad background in the financial sector, as a chartered accountant and auditor; in investment banking (through Merrill Lynch); as Chief Executive Officer of Riggs AP Bank; private banking and portfolio management; and venture capital. Since 2002, Robert has devoted the majority of his time as Director of the FIRST Initiative Management Unit, a $65 million multi-donor fund, where he was involved in managing technical assistance to more than 50 developing countries in all aspects of the financial sector, including bond issues, stock exchange development, banking, insurance, pensions, housing finance, leasing, privatisation, regulation and supervision.

John Pott

 

John Pott joined GBRW in 2005 after more than 20 years with the International Finance Corporation. Over this period he managed over 40 investment transactions and held over 20 Directorships as a Principal Investment Officer in the IFC’s Financial Markets division. Before joining the IFC, John was a Strategy Consultant with Arthur D Little. He has worked in nearly 30 emerging market economies, with a strong focus on South Asia (including 4 years as IFC Regional Representative for Pakistan and Bangladesh from 1990 to 1994) and South East Asia as well as many countries in Africa.

David Croft

 

David Croft joined GBRW as a director earlier this year. He has 30 years of international experience in investment banking, risk and balance sheet management with ING Bank, Citicorp, HSBC and Schroders, which involved heading business units in London, New York, Sydney, Zurich and Hong Kong. He has worked more recently as a consultant in London, New York, China, Thailand and Malaysia, including as an expert witness on cases involving complex structured transactions.
